Careful packing support for local and UK-wide moves

Professional Packing Services

Forest Removals provides professional packing services for customers who want help preparing their belongings before moving day. Choose full packing, fragile-only packing or support with selected rooms and items.

Before the packing date, we agree what is included, which materials are required and which belongings need extra attention. That preparation helps the team pack in a clear order and makes loading day easier to manage.

Packing is a separate service and is only included when it appears in your written quotation. Unpacking boxes at the new property is not automatically included unless it has been agreed in advance.

Two people sit on the floor smiling, surrounded by packed moving boxes in a bright room with large windows, grey curtains, and a painting propped against the wall—enjoying a fresh start after deciding to Request A Removal Quotation for their move.

A clear plan before the packing team arrives

How we prepare for a packing service

The packing plan starts with understanding the property, the volume of belongings and any items that need special handling. We also confirm whether the packing will take place the day before the move or as part of a wider schedule.

Packing must be completed before loading begins. Where a larger home or detailed fragile packing is involved, the work may need its own dedicated day so the team is not trying to pack and load at the same time.

We ask customers to separate anything that must travel with them, including medication, important documents, keys, jewellery, chargers and personal essentials. These items should not be packed into the removal load.

Suitable materials for different belongings

Packing materials and careful preparation

Good packing is not simply filling boxes. The materials and method need to match the item, the journey and the way the load will be handled.

For general household contents, we use suitable removal boxes, packing paper and tape. Wardrobe boxes can help keep hanging clothes organised, while stronger protection may be used for pictures, televisions and other agreed items.

Fragile items are wrapped and packed so movement inside the box is reduced. Boxes are then closed and labelled clearly so the removal team knows which room they belong in and which ones require careful handling.

Some belongings need a separate discussion before the packing date. Antiques, unusually valuable items, large artwork, specialist equipment and items in poor condition should be identified during the survey.

From survey to a move-ready home

3. Schedule

We agree when the packing team will attend before moving day.

4. Pack

Clear expectations before you book

What is included and what needs agreeing separately

The packing service covers only the work listed in your written quotation. That may be the whole home, fragile items or selected rooms. It also confirms whether Forest Removals is supplying the packing materials.

Dismantling furniture, packing lofts, garages or outdoor buildings, moving hazardous goods, specialist crating and unpacking at the destination are not automatically included. These must be discussed before the quote is accepted.

If the amount to be packed changes significantly, contact us before the packing date. Extra cupboards, rooms or belongings may require more materials, staff or time than originally allowed.

Important packing reminders

Keep essentials with you

Documents, medication, keys, valuables and personal essentials should stay with you.

Do not pack hazardous goods

Flammable, explosive, leaking or prohibited items cannot be packed into the move.

Prepare fridges and freezers

Food, defrosting and appliance preparation remain the customer’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise.

Discuss plants and outdoor items

Soil, water, sheds, garages and garden belongings may need separate planning.

Packing support as part of the wider move

Combine packing with removals and storage

Packing can be added to a local or UK-wide house move. It can also support a move into storage when completion dates do not line up or when a property is being renovated.

Where storage is involved, clear labelling becomes especially useful. It helps identify boxes for later access and supports an organised redelivery when the new property is ready.

The survey should cover the whole plan rather than treating packing, removal and storage as separate jobs. That allows the correct team, materials, vehicles and timings to be arranged together.
